It's supposedly manufactured in 1971 according to the seller, so should be a 2A.

We'll see when the V5 arrives and I've got some first hand info.

There's no engine fitted, though it is quoted as 2625cc so was a 6 pot.
It comes with a rebuilt Defender 2.5TD in the back, and apparently it's now on a 4 pot chassis.

Yes Dan - they just seem to jump out and say to me "BUY ME"!!

I suppose it's familiarity as well - we've done two Carawagon restorations including roofs now, so it's not such a daunting job as it might appear to be to someone who's looking for the first time, and I've 'sort of' got the space and time

Cheers,
Robin.

well done Robin

this one is just right for you

I noticed it had deep side windows on both
sides,i have not seen that before(would it
mean no wardrobe)

where does this one go in the re-build list?

Thanks Phillip,

I think you can just see a cabinet top on the driver's side through one of the back views, but I could be mistaken.

I don't know why it hasn't got shallow windows on that side; perhaps the cabinet is a bit lower?
As you probably know, they were all custom made so it doesn't surprise or worry me at all

I think I'll decide when it arrives, but it might be a quicker rebuild than my other project.
That one is still a complete truck cab on the lawn, with a new galv chassis in the garage and the Carawagon body on a trailer :stars:

Cheers,
Robin.

Congratulations on your new truck Robin! Looks like a good price. Your wife must be very understanding!

The front end might not be original to the truck, but it is correct for the year. My 1970 Series IIA 88" station wagon has an identical front end.

Cheers,
Ian

Hi Ian,

I don't think it should have an S3 bulkhead though, with S3 windscreen.
I've yet to see inside, but I'll bet it's got a soft dash!

Cheers,
Robin.

I was looking at the front end - I missed the hinge (there only seems to be the one) which is a giveaway, but as you say, the interior dash will be the final word. I'm a fan of the metal Series IIA dash myself.

Cheers,
Ian

Looking closely at the photographs, my money is on it being a soft dash.... Now, myself and Rob have purchased an old S2 bulkhead for spares. I primarily wanted the bits around the vents, this means that potentially the dash section will be available if you want to modify this bulkhead to an S2A look a like?

That sounds possible, Dan

I'll wait until I actually see it in the flesh, then decide :tiphat:

Cheers,
Robin.
