Can someone tell me how to remove the fabric from the bunkbeds easely? Unfortunately the fabric has been trapped in the mechanism and is a bit ripped and need repairing. The fabric needs to come off the poles for that.

Cheers,

Michiel

You will have to remove the bunks from the roof space and then drill out the rivets that hold the plastic pieces on each end. These keep the bunk material taut, you can then remove the ends of the bunk frames and slide the material off the poles :stars:

When I replaced mine I used self tapping screws when refitting the plastic pieces, you may find they are brittle and break. This happened to mine so I made new ones cut out of plastic pipe. Good time to paint the frames too

There's a bit of info here near the bottom of the page

Thanks for the reply Jerry,

The fabric has been replaced in recent years by MichelJ. But unfortunately the fabric has been trapped in the mechanism. So the plasic bits are new I believe. It is unfortunate the I have to remove the whole bunk to ake the fabric off.

HI Michiel

When I took my bunks apart, I got them dipped to remove the paint and then had them plastic coated. Got the hoops and the metal trim panels done at the same time. They still look great after 4 years of heavy use.
